1. Silicone Baking Mats
I’ve been eyeing these for such a long time and I FINALLY bought them.
Silicone baking mats are great and can be used a few different ways in the kitchen. Whether you’re baking on them directly or rolling out your pie crust or biscuit dough, these things keep your super delicate treats from sticking to all sorts of surfaces.
They also make sure all of your cookies come out the same size which is beyond helpful!
2. Wooden Bowl
Large wooden bowls are beautiful. I’ve always had a soft spot for natural pieces thrown in throughout the home so the kitchen is no different.
These are great to serve up a large salad for dinner, or chips and salsa on game night. These are even great if you’re expecting guests and want to keep fruit or small snack at hand for them on the counter. Never ever underestimate the versatility and beauty the wooden bowl brings.
3. Oversized Plates
Round, square, oval…find the shape and color that fits your style and invest in some. These again are great pieces to have. They make wonderful serving platters. You can use them around the holidays or during dinner parties.
I can’t think of a time when we are hosting that I didn’t need one!
4. Cast Iron Skillet
If there is anything you need in the kitchen it’s a cast iron skillet. These things are a work of art. The hold memories, tradition, and a whole lot of flavor!
Cast iron skillets are the one item that you literally can use ANYWHERE! Whether you’re at home cooking on the stove, baking in the oven, grilling, or out cooking on the camp fire…these babies will see you through it.
They are a bit more maintence but it’s all worth it.
BEFORE you go buying a brand new one (and nothing wrong with that) reach out to grandma and find out if there is one buried in her cabinets first. Otherwise you’re missing out on all that pre-seasoned cooking goodness!
These aren’t just great for cooking in though, they also make a meal feel more fun! I mean if someone came to the table with a full pot pie, or deep dish pizza baked in a cast iron skillet wouldn’t you find that both beautiful and delicious looking?!
5. Oversized Round Handled Tray

This thing is freaking AWESOME! Pricey but super awesome.
How many times have you wanted to bring everything to your guests at once? This can handle that.
How many charcuterie boards have you put together but couldn’t move because there will multiple boards being used or if you did move it things would fall off?! This will keep things safe!
How many stinking times have you had a ton of friends and family over and everyone wants a slice of cake at the birthday party? Or drinks? Or you just want to have a tray of things out for friends….
The list literally can go on and on. That’s why this should be something you seriously consider getting. AND when you’re not “using” it you could use it on the ottoman! THIS piece is so versatile and should be in every serious entertainers home!
